Ibn Haldun Award was presented to Prof. Dr. Yaşar Sarı.
The Turkic World Science Awards were held by the Turkic World Yoruk Turkmen Union at Bursa Technical University on Thursday, 3 October 2024. In the event held within the scope of the Turkic States Cooperation Day, scientists of the Turkic World were awarded for their achievements and contributions to science.
The aim of the ceremony was to bring together scientists who keep the values of Turkish culture and civilisation alive, who stand out with their virtuous and moral stances, to set an example for young generations and to honour the achievements of Turkish scientists who shape the history of science. In this context, Biruni Natural Sciences Award, Al-Jazari Robotics Award, Harezmi Mathematics Award and Cengiz Aitmatov Literature Award are among the awards presented for their contributions in various fields of science.
In this year's award programme, Ibn Haldun Award was presented to Prof. Dr. Yaşar Sarı for his contributions to the Turkish World.
Cemal Akkuş, Chairman of the Organising Committee, stated that the award programme aims to bring the achievements of scientists to a wide audience by being held at a different university every year. Akkuş stated that the common values of the Turkic World will be emphasised at the ceremony and that these awards will shed light on the future of science as well as honouring scientists.
