For the 2025–2029 term, the Republic of Azerbaijan has been elected as a member of the UNESCO Intergovernmental Committee for the Protection and Promotion of the Diversity of Cultural Expressions, which has 24 members.

Several important resolutions were adopted on the final day of the 51st Session of the Council of Foreign Ministers of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC). One of the resolutions, which was initiated by Azerbaijan and titled “The Right to Return of Azerbaijanis Forcibly and Systematically Expelled from Present-Day Armenian Territory,” is the first resolution within the OIC framework for the support of the Western Azerbaijan Community’s legitimate right of return to their lands and condemns Armenia’s continued denial of the community’s fundamental rights.
