On March 21, 2025, during the 61st plenary session of the 79th session of the UN General Assembly, the resolution “Permanent Neutrality of Turkmenistan” was adopted by consensus under agenda item 61, “Peace-building and peacekeeping.” Aksoltan Atayeva, Turkmenistan’s Permanent Representative to the UN, presented the resolution, emphasizing that Turkmenistan’s status of permanent neutrality forms the core of its foreign policy and underpins its balanced peacekeeping doctrine on the international stage. Atayeva highlighted that the international community’s broad support for Turkmenistan’s neutral stance, since the UN General Assembly first adopted a resolution on it in 1995, has solidified its role as a key player in preventive diplomacy. She noted that neutrality is embedded in Turkmenistan’s constitutional law and is deeply tied to the country’s historical traditions of peace, dialogue, and mutual respect. During the conversation, key issues of cooperation between Kazakhstan and the United Nations were discussed. The President emphasized the significance of the unanimously adopted UN General Assembly resolution on establishing a Regional Center for Sustainable Development Goals for Central Asia and Afghanistan in Almaty and addressed further steps for its institutionalization. Highlighting the 80th anniversary of the UN as a universal and uncontested organization, he stressed the importance of upholding its Charter and universally recognized principles of international law. In response, the Secretary-General commended Kazakhstan’s peacekeeping efforts and its contribution to global security and sustainable development.

Kassym-Jomart Tokayev and Shavkat Mirziyoyev visited the exhibition AlmatyFair.ai
At the exhibition dedicated to the development of artificial intelligence, the heads of state explored cutting-edge solutions in areas such as GovTech, FinTech, BigTech, and Smart City, as well as innovations presented by IT companies, industrial projects, and educational initiatives. One of the highlights was the presentation of the International Artificial Intelligence Center concept, an initiative launched by President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev, aimed at training AI specialists, fostering startups, and advancing research in the AI field. The leaders were introduced to a national AI platform designed to optimize government agency operations and were shown the AISana educational program, which focuses on harnessing AI's potential to support the national economy and technological entrepreneurship. Additionally, the Presidents were briefed on the activities of the Central Asian Innovation Hubs, a regional alliance of the largest technoparks in Kazakhstan and Uzbekistan, which united last year to foster startup ecosystems and promote innovations globally. As part of this collaboration, 39 startups from both countries participated in major IT events such as the INMerge Innovation Summit, Web Summit 2024, and TechCrunch Disrupt 2024.

The President of Uzbekistan took part in the trilateral meeting of the heads of state
On March 31, President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev participated in a trilateral meeting with President of Tajikistan Emomali Rahmon and President of Kyrgyzstan Sadyr Japarov in Khujand, where they exchanged congratulations on Ramadan Hayit and Navruz. President Mirziyoyev warmly congratulated Tajikistan and Kyrgyzstan on the resolution of all border issues and the signing of the Agreement on the Delimitation of the State Border, emphasizing its significance for regional stability and development. The leaders discussed strengthening cooperation, particularly through active diplomatic engagement, enhanced trade and logistics infrastructure, and industrial projects. They highlighted the importance of expanding transport links, green energy initiatives, and water and ecology programs. A trilateral meeting of the Presidents of Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan and Uzbekistan was held.
On March 31, President of the Kyrgyz Republic Sadyr Japarov, along with President of the Republic of Tajikistan Emomali Rahmon and President of the Republic of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev, held trilateral talks in Khujand ahead of the Nooruz holiday celebrations. Following a welcoming ceremony and joint photo session, the leaders convened to discuss key issues of regional cooperation, highlighting the importance of fostering good-neighborly relations, advancing joint infrastructure and economic projects, and enhancing tourism across Central Asia. President Japarov expressed gratitude to his Tajik counterpart for the warm hospitality and underscored the symbolic significance of Nooruz in uniting the peoples of the region. Quoting Kyrgyz wisdom, he emphasized the value of close neighbors and expressed hope that such gatherings would become an annual tradition promoting unity and mutual understanding.
