Intellectual bridges established between the accumulation of the past and the possibilities of the future play a decisive role in the processes of renewal and deepening of scientific thought. In our age of accelerating globalization, the social, political, economic, cultural, and technological transformations taking place necessitate not only a reconsideration of existing theoretical frameworks but also a reinterpretation of historical heritage. The theme “The Legacy of the Past, the Construction of the Future” offers a holistic perspective that enables us to think continuity and transformation together, thereby providing an inspiring foundation for all fields of science.

With its deep-rooted historical and cultural heritage, the Turkic world possesses a strong intellectual foundation shaped not only by political experience, social memory, and traditions of thought, but also by its scientific and technical legacy. Shared historical experience, cultural continuity, and linguistic proximity provide a unique opportunity not only in the humanities but also for interdisciplinary studies, including natural sciences, engineering, health sciences, and applied fields. The institutional structures of the past, practices of knowledge production, and experiences of modernization should be evaluated as strategic references in the construction of the future.

Ismail Gaspirali’s motto, “Unity in Language, Thought, and Action,” represents a concise expression of the intellectual continuity established between past and future. Today, the understanding of cooperation, which has gained an institutional dimension through the Organization of Turkic States (OTS), holds the potential to go beyond political and economic domains and to establish a common ground for thinking and research in scientific production. This framework makes it possible for knowledge in the Turkic world to become not only transmitted but also produced and transformed into a dynamic value.

The first International Congress of Young Academics of the Turkic World was held in Ankara, and the second in Tashkent. The third will take place in Baku—one of the prominent cultural and scientific centers of the Turkic world—between 10–13 May 2026, under the theme “The Legacy of the Past, the Construction of the Future.”

This congress, which will bring together young academics from various higher education institutions across the Turkic world, aims to address—through a multidimensional perspective—how historical accumulation can be integrated with contemporary scientific debates. We would be delighted to welcome you to this scholarly gathering, which seeks to strengthen academic interaction, deepen a shared culture of thinking, and contribute to the future of scientific production in the Turkic world.
